Very distinctive sound on this outing, courtesy of MIDI orchestration (brass & tubular bells) added during the mixing process. That's in addition to the nearly telepathic improvisations they started with!
Over the course of 8 albums, these two master improvisers have coalesced into a mighty partnership...boundless imagination translated into expanding soundscapes whose complexity has grown with each release...it is a tripartite process, I think: two individual and very different voices merging into a distinct third...but all three are always present...that’s hard to pull off!!
The 8th album in a series of duo releases by Mark and Markus under the moniker TEAR. It was recorded over the internet in an experimental fashion and then mixed and mastered by Mark. We're very happy how it came out. Stay tuned for deep explorations, both live and studio recordings, to surface here. Enjoy the music and we appreciate your support!
You can find a video of the recording session and a mixing tutorial on YouTube.

About 1/3 thru it so far, and already i agree that this is an important performance to release to the public. “Cusp” and “Larks 2” are worth the price of admission alone.
(Frustrated to learn of this October release in December, but i guess that just means i need to pay more attention to social media...?) cuzn ed
This recording can move the listener beyond the world of piano and guitar. Pay close attention and hear what is taking place here with these musicians and you too will be moved. daniel anthony zongrone
